Hey everyone -

I can't believe that my last journal was way back in November of last year... so much has happened since then it seems like a lifetime ago.

I'm going to try and keep this short and sweet, I just felt like the need to do a short update:

Been working like a dog all year, and not really seeing the fruits of my labours. It's been quite disheartening. Last year I got off to a flying start with the freelance lifestyle with a few good clients and plenty of work coming in. But this year has been slow, some clients have fallen by the wayside and I have basically been working for less than minimum wage - something I swore I would never do. I have always said that artists we have to fight for decent pay for what we do, we're f*cking skilled workers for f*cks sake! But when you really have nothing you'll work just to pay the rent and put the next meal on the table...

What has made this period so hard is that I have been doing heaps of work, just for so little... 4 days work for £50!?! That's £12.50 a day, and I hate to work out what that is an hour... Deep down I know I should say no to people who won't pay a fair rate, but like I said, I need to eat.

Anyway - enough of the misery - I'm ok otherwise and very flattered by the influx of people that chose to watch me after I posted my photograph of Heath Ledger & Heather Graham - I had no idea it was going to have that effect especially as my submissions have been getting a low number of visits. I guess traffic on this site goes through fits and spurts.

I'm currently working on a huge website project which is taking up all of my (very little) free time, which I can't wait to start promoting here when it goes public, so watch this space, it's very exciting. I'm also doing a community mural project in South East London which is proving to be quite an amazing experience and I have primed some more test canvases to try out some more techniques and ideas on before I start to paint some big canvases, the sum of which will hopefully culmination will be my first exhibition in London (though that will be months away!).

Oh, and I have updated my gallery decanting my work into folders so that people can browse my work by medium or by theme.
