This was a postcard flyer (which was actually a postcard) for Duckie's Seaside Variety special marking their 10 years as an alternative cabaret art nightclub for people of indeterminate sexual persuasion.
What with the event taking place in an old Art Deco pavillion and the fact that it was a trip (on a double decker!) to the seaside for a variety performance I felt that I couldn't miss the opportunity to hark back to the old London & North Eastern Railway posters from the early 1920's through to the late 40's - great artists like Tom Purvis, Leonard Cusden and Andrew Johnson inspred this work.
Time: 1 week (my VERY first piece of vector illustration ever...)
Medium: Photoshop
Reference: From a 1930's photo from the De La Warr Pavillion archive

in fact, abstractfonts.com is one of the best font sites around - stacks of free fonts all searchable by style, type, designer, theme etc... I get nearly all my fonts from there.

Insignificant signature for your pleasure!
May I also ask, what is the font used? Been looking for something similar myself.
